We contacted Gemini Builders after reading great reviews online.  The original scope was for a media wall, new flooring downstairs and new internal doors throughout.  Once the work started, we realised that we also needed to replace all the skirting boards and upgrade the radiators as they looked shabby in comparison to the new look of the rooms.  The Flooring went down first and we were absolutely delighted with the result.  Leighton popped in regularly to check on progress and his attention to detail is second to none!

Next up was the media wall.  We purchased the fire separately and the carpenter worked around that to suggest a design that would work. Its turned out just how we wanted it!  He worked in tandem with the electrician and again, Leighton was on hand to help out and make sure everything ran smoothly. The doors unexpectedly proved the most tricky part of the whole job! With a few exceptions, most of the doors were non standard sizes and not only did they have to be specially ordered, but the door frames had to be altered as well.  We would not have had a clue how to solve this and that is where Gemini’s professionalism comes into play.  What seemed like a major hurdle to us, was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Once the main work was finished, it was time to decorate and finish the job off.  I was not confident at all to make any choices regarding the colour scheme and really didn’t want to spoil the effect that had been created and that is when Daniella, stepped in. She listened to what we wanted and came up with the perfect paint colour choices.  I have to say, I was totally sceptical of her idea to paint the stairs dark green, but she was so convincing, I said we would give it a go (we could always repaint it if we didn’t like it).  We had to eat humble pie and admit she was right!!! She also made some subtle suggestions that we would never have thought of (such as painting the skirting boards the same colour as the walls).  Small things that have made a big difference to the overall effect. As for Gemini’s decorator – he is hands down the best we’ve ever used –  the amount of work he got through each day was astounding, and his work was so neat and tidy and like Leighton and the rest of the team, attention to detail couldn’t be faulted.

Going forward, we will definitely be using them again.  I know this was probably a relatively small job in comparison to many of the projects they take on, but that didn’t mean they treated us any differently.  Thank you Leighton and the Gemini team – see you again soon we hope!!!
